Road Warrior Freelance Music.jpg

I put out Road Warrior Without an Expense Account, my first book, in May of 2008. A couple of months later I had the chance to do a book signing and presentation on the book in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and I put together a Keynote presentation covering many of the key points covered in this book.

I’ve been meaning to do a narration over this presentation and put it out as a video for some time, but student teaching revved up for me soon after doing this presentation, and I haven’t had any time to collect my thoughts and sit down to do this until this past week. Think of this as “food for thought” for music professionals and those considering a career as a performing musician (particularly people seeking a classical conservatory training, though many of the points also apply to jazz, rock, and other styles of music),

This is kind of a cursory treatment of the subject matter, but it gives you some idea of what this book is about, and it might provide some food for thought. This book and presentation are both based on a ten part blog series I did in 2006 and 2007, and though the posts are really a jumping off point for ideas that I greatly expand upon in the book, I think that they cover some thought-provoking topics and are worth checking out it you haven’t done so before.
