This is an important issue that is hitting orchestra & music programs across the country.on April 15th, the New York Times did an excellent video piece on a school orchestra program in Newark, Ohio that is struggling to stay alive. It is a compelling story of how teachers and students have been deeply affected by the downturn. Please send your colleagues this extremely important piece of journalism about the very vital educational work that is done in classrooms around the country.

Please pass this along to colleagues on Facebook & elsewhere. it’s important to help people understand that while the arts suffered in recent years in regards to funding, that programs across the country are still very vulnerable and this excellent piece really demonstrates the personal stories in a human and engaging way.
