Great story! Yeah I’ve been there in a way. In the days I was a gigging drummer in a “party/wedding” band I had to load in my stuff including my 24″ bass drum and people would look at me like an alien just walked in the building. Though I think more people figure out what cylindrical objects in bags might be as the contrabass seems more a rarity and bewildering to most people.

But of course for all the headaches that gigging can have, it’s always worth it!
