Ed Barker plays Boston premiere of Harbison

Ed Barker (former Contrabass Conversations guest) will give the Boston premiere of John Harbison’s Concerto for Bass Viol and Orchestra with the Boston University Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:30 PM at the Tsai Performance Center.

We’ve featured this concerto extensively on doublebassblog.org in the past–check out our videos of the piece from the 2009 International Society of Bassists Convention as well as our interview with Scott Best, one of the soloists for the original commission and one of the presenters for the 2009 Harbison event.
