Thanks for this Jeremy- just to add to the recordings of the Louise Farrenc Quintets I dusted them off in 1994 from the Library of Congress and presented them at the 1995 and 1997 ISB conventions. In 1997 I made, what I believe to be, the first recordings of these quintets with the Hong Kong Chamber Players and sold them for the first time at the 1997 convention and later through Lemur. It was a labor of love. They've now been re-released and can be purchased on my website: www.caitlynkamminga.com

This was a great article, thanks always to all who expand our repertoire!

Nemeth's page is great. Kurt Muroki is moving his chamber music web site to the ISB's page. It contains a large number of pieces that use the double bass, along with information on the publishers. Here is a couple of excellent transcriptions: Anthony Scelba's transcription of the Schubert C Major Quintet (the Great) second cello part to the double bass at http://www.ludwinmusic.com/ and Kenneth Harper's transcription of the 2nd Cello part of Brahms B flat Sextet to the double bass at George Vance's web site http://slavapub.net/

It was a very inspirational article especially since I am applying for a graduate performance diploma in Fall 2010. Best regards.
