Robert Black performance
Robert Black (an International Society of Bassists board member) will perform Paquito D’Rivera’s double concerto, “Conversations with Cachao,” with Paquito D’Rivera and the American Composer’s Orchestra at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 7:30 PM. The performance will be repeated on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 7:30 at the Prince Theater, Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

I was one of 2 people sitting in front row at Annenberg Center last Saturday. I could not keep my feet and body from moving to the music. Robert Black was absolutely magical to watch perform. I was the equivalent of a kid in a candy store on Saturday. I congratulated him after the concert, and he commented “do you think you had as much fun as I did?”. memorable concert for sure.
