On this list, music is the #4 worst paying career, followed by Theology (#3), Elementary Education (#2), and Social Work (#1). Education is ranked as the #7 worst paid career.
Nice–I just went from the #4 worst paying career to the #7 worst paying. Progress! I’m glad that my wife is in medical school…

Sadly, the salary range indicated by the article “starting annual salary: $34,000; mid-career annual salary: $52,000” is decent by an orchestral musician’s standards. An orchestra that advertised that salary for an audition would draw 100+ applicants!
Glad I ain’t in it for the money!!!
