    Simply the BEST!!

I was very disappointed that Mr. Tuneh was not taking an active part as a performer in the last Bass2010 in Berlin, I was very lucky to meet him there last week, after Concert that Miloslav Gajdos was giving – Mr. Tuneh was a private guest of Mr. Gajdos, what an owner – For me Guy Tuneh is a living legend!! My bass hero!!

Gajdos gave Guy Tuneh music Notes, Gajdos just love Guy Tuneh, its like he is his own child!

For me it was rare and great moment to meet those two bass heros!

Sure that Mr. Guy Tuneh is a wonderful bassist and has his one of a kind quality
But I just don’t like him.
to much energy, to much fire, I like calm cool bass.
More than that he lost some kilos…

Amazing about this guy, his way of presenting his
    musical-ideas.
He playes the contrabass with all his body, Bass playing in High Tech form.
I guess it influences not only the performance, I’m sure it has something to do with the sound
(his sound is like a warm velvet, like deep embracing bass sound)
Great to see and to learn!
Thanks for posting & for A plus experience!

(and I was sure that bass can never be elegant…)

Well, I think that Mr. Tuneh is very quniqe, as far as I understand his artistry, But stil, this kine playing is a non-orchestral playing! which brings me to ask: who needs this kine playing?

He uses other technical and spiritual ideas, No one (that I know…) can fit to him and he can’t dovetail to any of those people that he played with in any of the Videos that Jason has posted till today, showing G. Tuneh.

I’ve been to Berlin in October and saw some of the finest bassists of our time, (Mr. Tuneh was not an active performer – pitty ’cause I would like have a look at him live in action…) and stil I didnt get the feeling that the bass is “Solo”, it is a team instrument, from the first day at school, it was like this, it will stay like this.
If someone can play it AMAZING perfect than it has nothing to do with music, or someone like Tuneh that can play uniqe but still no one can fit to him.
For me Mr. Tuneh is a kind of a frick, Great as he is, but out of time and out of planet has in our time no place for.

Bass is an orchestral instument, I dont know what he does but for me it has no place and stage in our society, in our tradition or even in the music world, maybe in few years from now but today, No Way!
Maybe I’m to stupid or have a problem with this kinde players in which Tuneh is part of but this kind of performing is for me just outer space.

I hope I don’t make anyone to take my comment hard but this is how I, John, see this phenomena called Guy Tuneh through my eyes.

and I think that other people would agree with my rendition to the Guy David Tuneh subject.

@ Jason, “Spielbass” is a Youtube user that use a very non-cultur way of commenting, he writes about Gajdos and some other Bass-kings (as much as about Guy Tuneh as well) only bad things,
Jason you should think if You Wish to give Yout blog a new “style” in giving stage to this kind of blog-cultur.

(@ spielbass: No, it makes You envy!)

    I think He is OUSTANDING!
its apitty that there are very few to make me also such a “seasick”…

  49. James
    22 October 2010, 7:03 am

@ John, Not every bassist has to play in an Orchestra, I’m very happy to have some one like Guy Tuneh out there, he is not only giving new light to the jubject Bass plaing, he gives new dimantion of music performing, I think its Great and uniqe and special as well.
No one can replace him, but even if why?
    Guy tuneh is Guy Tuneh.
Think, the great musician to be so special is in fact a bassist, isnt it great, giving all the other “instruments back”…
Let him doing his Job, and we can only learn and get from him more genius ideas of making music on bass as making music in general.

    Best
