Creatives at Work Forum: Website Design

Artists in all media rely on the web to market, promote, and sell their work, while connecting with opportunities, and cultivating fans, collectors, and audiences. Discussed are the most effective strategies specific to making a website for the artist of any discipline.

Presented by Jenny Kendler (Other Peoples Pixels), Sara Schnadt (Chicago Artists Resource), Nick Keenan (sound designer, web designer).

This Creatives at Work Forum is part two of a web series focused on maximizing the internet as a tool to the creatives’ advantage.

Creatives At Work Forums bring artists and experts to discuss best practices for Chicago’s creatives in music, dance, theater, visual art, and more.

In the early part of this decade, a group of people in Austin, Texas formed an organization called Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) to provide a source for low-cost primary health care services, basic dental care and mental health counseling for uninsured, professional musician in the Austin-area. It has been in service since successfully helping many Austin area musicians. Recently we were approached by someone who is researching a way to set up a similar system in Chicago. The initial part of this is a research survey that we are sending out to you. Please go to this link and fill out the simple form. This will help determine the viability of the project.
