left a message for you several days ago (please read if you haven’t) re my interest in your group, and mentioning my Lullaby for bass quartet, available at Lemur. I thought I had run out of copies, but it turns out I have a spare I could send you as a comp, if you like. Please let me know that with an address, and perhaps a direct email, if you wouldn’t mind. Best Holiday wishes, Paul

    ATTN: Jaque–
Hi, Jaque, and thank you for your response.
Alas, nothing’s working right now.– your email, among others, has disappeared from my PC (courtesy of, ugh, Vista).

Also, since I first wrote you, it turns out that the disc with
Lullaby quartet for printing, was corrupted. So, I’ll need to retain the one copy that I was going to send you, for reference. When mre are printed up, I can send one then. (I might need to ask you to repeat your address for me.)
I did listen to the bass piece you suggested, and found it
a compelling example of the kind of spiky music that you want to add to your repertory. (It’s original== and I like it.)

Lullaby definitely wouldn’t work in a cavernous airport, but the thought gave me kind of sideways rush.

when I wrote you, I think I was responding to something in your blog about lyrical music.
. Now that I live in Sarasota, airports feel like any given day on the streets of NYC, my hometown. You and I share
that big city vibe. Whenever I visit NYC, which is at least twice a year, I realize that it once was necessary to be in a permanent state of anxiety to get the full benifit of living there.

I’d Iike to give you a bit of background on Lullaby. After I wrote it, I’ve never yet heard it played by quartet. So I reset it in “Three Lyric Pieces,” for db and string orchestra. 3Lyric than embarked on a series of adventures. It had its first performanc with the Sarasota Orchestra a few years back, and then in NYC at Merkin Hall with the Bachinalia Orchestra. It’s scheduled to be recorded in 2011. .

With wishes for a great 2011 for the Chicago Bass Ensemble!

    Paul
