As the worst storm in over a decade rolls into Chicago, I’d like to encourage people to register for this Sunday’s Chicago Bass Festival. Former Chicago Symphony Principal Bass Joe Guastafeste will be giving an excerpt master class, as will Michael Hovnanian (CSO), Rob Kassinger (CSO), Andy Anderson (Lyric/Roosevelt), Larry Gray (jazz artist/U of I), Eric Hochberg (jazz artist), Diana Gannett (University of Michigan), Marlene Rosenberg (jazz artist/Northwestern), yours truly (DePaul), Virginia Dixon (renowned Suzuki teacher/Wheaton College) and many others.

Sound like a good lineup to you?

There will also be many bass outguess with instruments, bows, and accessories for sale, so sign up, check out some master classes and clinics from some of the best bassists in the business, try some basses, and geek out with the Chicago bass community. All ages are welcome, and there are activities from beginner through college-age. See you there!
