Tony Scelba has a passion for arranging chamber music for ensembles that include double bass (not a bad project, in my opinion!).  Looks like quite a good catalog of materials.  check it out if you’re looking for something new to play.

Tony writes:

Dear Mr. Heath:

Thank you for your blog, and for the promotion of double bass chamber music, a life-long obsession of mine.  May I ask you to take a look at the Bass page on the Edition Silvertrust site?
http://www.editionsilvertrust.com/chamber-music-with-bass.htm

My specific concern in writing you is to promote my arrangements of chamber works to include double bass.  All my arrangements are very carefully worked out.  Those published by Silvertrust are created to sound as if written by the original composers.

If you can find any Libraries or individuals to order my arrangements, I’d be very grateful to you.  I hesitate to mention that I do not make a penny on these arrangements or sales.  I am only promoting sales because Silvertrust will not continue to produce DB chamber music if nothing sells.  Silvertrust’s prices are very reasonable, incidentally.

My arrangements that are available now are:
Brahms Sextet in Bb
Brahms Sextet in G
Felix Draeseke Quintet op. 77
Eduard Franck Sextet No. 1 in Eb
Eduard Franck Sextet No. 2 in D
Joachim Raff Sextet
Tchaikovsky “Souvenir of Florence”
Schubert Great C major*
Taneyev Quintet in G*

These last two are not yet up on the webpage, but are available.

Finally, here is a clip of us performing one of the arrangements at Kean Univ., if you are interested:

Most important: if you can get the Silvertrust Bass Page information onto your blog, I’d be very, very appreciative.

Yours truly,
Tony
