Have you ever checked out this great comparison chart from International Society of Bassists president-elect and Ithaca College faculty member Nicholas Walker on Simandl and Rabbath positions?  It’s a great way to visually grasp the differences between these two systems.  This is a topic that I wrote about previously, and it continues to be a source of great interest online, so I figured that posting this chart would be helpful.  Hat tip to Kyle Olmstead for his post on this chart!

By the way, we’ll be featuring Nick on Contrabass Conversations this spring!  In addition to his playing and teaching, we’ll be talking about the 2017 ISB Convention, which will be held at Ithaca.  Check out this interview featuring current ISB President Douglas Mapp talking about just how cool these conventions really are.  I’ll be there in 2017 and hope to see you there as well!
