We will be featuring two outstanding double bassists on Contrabass Conversations next week.  Monday’s episode will feature Indianapolis Symphony Principal Bass Ju-Fang Liu.  Originally from Taiwan, Ju-Fang studied at Indiana University and was a member of the New World Symphony and Kansas City Symphony prior to her appointment as principal bass of the Indianapolis Symphony. Ju-Fang teaches at Butler University in Indianapolis and several other institutions in the area, and she has recorded a wonderful solo album.

Thursday’s episode will feature Milwaukee Symphony Principal Bass Andrew Raciti.  Andy was associate principal bass of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Australia prior to joining the Milwaukee Symphony.  He teaches bass at Northwestern University and performed the United States premiere of the Concerto for Double Bass and String Orchestra by Macedonian composer Zivoin Glisic in 2011.

I think that you’ll really enjoy these two episodes!
