I had a chance to sit down with Butler University double bass professor and noted soloist and clinician David Murray recently for an extremely fun and interesting interview. David and I covered all sorts of topics, including lessons with Gary Karr (who was actually David’s first bass teacher–pretty good first bass teacher, right?), David’s longtime association with the International Society of Bassists, traveling with a bass, and many other topics.
