i need a new music stand and saw a fellow bassist using a "boomstand". I havnt seem them in the stores but I did find the manufacturer online. Has anyone tried this type of stand? It really looks like it makes sight reading easier, it looks great for double bass players. Any ideas?

Hi Jason,
I first heard about your blog from Robert Freeman. Was he your dean at Eastman? And now, more recently, Most recently David Cutler brought your name up in conversation the other day. Since we both live in Chicago, it seems we should get together. David Cutler is coming into town in January sometime so shoot me an email with your schedule. Oh, and if you are so inclined, I would like to include you as a link on the ETA blog and would you add mine to yours?

I am away until the 5th. Happy New Year!

Also, are you still doing some kind of bass event in August?
