Paul McCartney plays Bill Black’s original double bass from the early Elvis Presley recordings (white trim around the edges–very distinctive) on this video clip. Here’s a video featuring the excellent group Time for Three. This bluegrass/classical trio played with the IRIS Orchestra in 2006, and it was a real pleasure to get to be on stage with them. You’ll be hearing Ranaan Meyer on bass along with violinists Zachary DePue and Nicolas Kendall.

Here is a short clip of bass soloist and recent Contrabass Conversations guest François Rabbath performing Le Cri during Recital Hour. This performance occurred a few days before François did the interview for Contrabass Conversations, and it is great to hear him play this piece.
