This video is a little grainy and slightly out of sync, but it features great bass playing and allows for folks who are unfamiliar with the Hoffmeister Concerto No. 1 to give it a listen. Carmine Laino plays the double bass with Pierfrancesco Borrelli accompanying splendidly on Harpsicord.

This video was most likely taken on a cell phone, so be sure to take some dramamine before watching if you get motion sickness easily. It does give folks a glance of the great music making of this duet if you’ve missed their recent tour, however.

Here is a video of the great Boguslaw Furtok playing a seven minute excerpt from the Bottesini Gran Duo Concertante with violinist Sha Ye. I’m not sure where this performance is taking place, but it sounds great.

I recently found a great clip of the fabulous jazz bassist Brian Bromberg playing a solo at the Tokyo Blue Note. Brian plays a magnificent old Italian bass, and he has created some staggeringly amazing recordings in the past.

Carlos Del Pino is an amazing jazz double bass player from Cuba. Now living in NYC, he has become the epitome of passion, power and precision when performing. This cat is awesome!
Accompanying Carlos in the background, you can hear Chiemi Nakai (piano), Emmanuel Bizeau (conga’s) and David Eure (violin).
