Max Dimoff Warm-Ups - New Post from CSO Bass Blog
Michael Hovnanian recently wrote a post on his CSO Bass Blog about Max Dimoff’s warm-up packet. He writes about one of the string crossing exercises (a Simandl Gradus ad Parnessum-style exercise) in particular from these warm-ups and shows it’s application in passages from the orchestral literature. After a long day of surfing, hacking, and tweaking, I have put some really cool new features into my blog that I think people will enjoy. The first new feature is above this post in the address bar of your browser. I have installed a Bass Page favicon (the bass clef you see [...]
Musical Examples on Michael Hovnanian’s CSO Bass Blog
Michael Hovnanian has been writing some posts on his CSO Bass Blog that would be very helpful to classical double bassists. He has been providing some fingering solutions for pieces that the Chicago Symphony has been performing recently.
Check out his Mahler 7 post or his Kodály Concerto for Orchestra post for some examples.
