new footage of Nora the piano-playing cat
Violinist Holly Mulcahy recently sent me a link to this new, even cuter video featuring Nora the cat playing the piano. You can click here for the original video. The startling thing about these videos is how obviously Nora enjoys playing the piano. She is definitely communicating with humans through the [...]
Washing the Cats
Here are a couple of really classic shots of cats getting baths. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cat that has been glad to have gotten a bath, and these little guys all look genuinely miserable to be all soaped up. You can check out the original post and even more [...]
Cats in action
Here’s a little lighthearted fun from Dark Roasted Blend. Check out their original post for more pictures of various animals in action:
My cats do this kind of thing all the time:
This squirrel is about to make a terrible mistake:
This cat is about to learn an important lesson about bird size:
Although this one looks cute [...]
Singing Cat
Violinist Holly Mulcahy sent me a link to this short and cute video of Monster, a cat with a vocal cord condition which makes him sound like a miniature opera singer every time he yawns. Check it out here.
Cats versus Toy Dragonflies
There was a very cute cat post from Gizmodo recently. The author’s cat (shown below) Anya is really into this thing. Anya looks a lot like my cat Dan, and they seem to share the same curiosity about strange mechanical things.
Here’s a video of Anya versus the giant dragonfly. I love how [...]
Stuff + Cats = Awesome
Double bassist Jacque Harper recently sent me a link to Stuff On My Cat, one of the greatest cat websites out there. I’ve loved looking at this website for a long time. Non-cat lovers may not realize that when a cat is sleepy, they often become totally unconcerned with what their human is doing to [...]
His Royal Highness, Montana de Montecore, Conducts the Orchestra
I always knew that my cats stole my baton and conducted imaginary symphonies when I left hom, but I didn’t catch them until just now.
More Nora the Cat from John Floeter
Grant Park Symphony and Northern Illinois University bass instructor John Floeter sent me a link to a page filled with the musical stylings of Nora the Cat. I blogged about Nora a few days ago, and this page is filled with a ton of other information about Nora.
I sometimes wonder if my cat love [...]
Nora, The Piano-Playing Cat
Violinist Holly Mulcahy sent me a link to this incredibly cute video featuring Nora the cat. This cat is pretty talented at the piano, all things considered. I don’t own a piano, but I have ot wonder if my kitties would be as into playing as Nora obviously is.
Attention: The cats have now taken over the Bass Blog
The cats are now running things here.
All they ask is that you don’t pick them up.
