One of my favorite blogs hands down is Dark Roasted Blend. This photography blog always features really intriguing photos. Here is a sampling of photos from a recent post on offshore wind turbines. You can read the post and see many more photos here.

Here is a great photo I recently found poking around on Flickr. It is a shot of Frank Gehry’s Pritzker Pavillion of Millennium Park in Chicago. I can’t tell which ensemble is performing in this shot.

Matt Wengerd recently sent me a link for a photoset from Flickr user cess van de van. This particular set features shots of 147 different (mostly jazz) bassists. These photos tend to be very evocative and artistic. Here is a small sampling:

Here is a great shot courtesy of Greg Sarchet featuring the great double bass pedagogue Franz Simandl in full ceremonial dress. I especially like the sword he has on his belt. That Simandl was one fearsome bass teacher–one false move in your bass lesson with him could have proved to be your last.
