Perspectives from the Bass Faculty

Q: What are some of your favorite experiences teaching at your school?

A: My studio offers a well balanced approach to the bass – orchestral studies, solo performance practice, jazz styles. We have many opportunities for performance including a 5 String bass in Viennese tuning (gut strings) as well as a D viol one for use in our baroque ensemble. I love working with each student and helping them find their individual voice.

Q: If there’s anything else you’d like us to share about studying bass at your school?

A: We have a great community of supportive students and faculty-this is an awesome place to study bass!
