About The Bass Faculty

New Penn State faculty member Jeremy McCoy is accepting applications for openings in the double bass studio for the 2018-19 academic year. We encourage you to apply today!

Backed by the traditions of a world-class university, Penn State offers its students a wide range of degree options. Undergraduate students may choose to access double major or major/minor degree programs, allowing them to pursue an interest in more than one area of study. Within the School of Music itself, with a job placement record exceeding 99%, Penn State’s highly regarded music education program provides one outstanding opportunity to undertake a double major in music performance and education.

At the graduate level, the studio is accepting students for the Master of Music in Performance program. One qualified student will receive a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. This two-year opportunity offers complete tuition remission and an annual stipend of approximately $9,600. At the graduate or post-graduate level, the Professional Performance Certificate (PPC) is a one-year program costing only $2,000.

Jeremy McCoy is Assistant Principal double bass with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and maintains an active role as soloist, chamber musician, studio session player, and teacher. Visit jeremymccoy.net.
