Double bassist Greg Sarchet has had over 20 years teaching experience, and currently teaches at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA), and most past students have been accepted at major universities and conservatories, including Manhattan School of Music, Boston University, Northwestern, Indiana University, Rice, DePaul University, Chicago College of Performing Arts, University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, and others. He has had a wide array of musical experiences and training, from studying with his first teacher, jazz luminary Rufus Reid, to receiving his degrees from the Juilliard School, to hundreds of television/radio commercial recordings. His ongoing international exchange efforts have been recognized with two Chicago Artists International Program awards, which sent him to the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria , Hungary, and Great Britain for performances, masterclasses, and archival research for the Vienna Waltz Ensemble. He is a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and for nearly 20 years has served on the faculties of Northwestern University, Northern Illinois University, and presently Northeastern Illinois University and Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of the Performing Arts.

I offer private lessons on upright and electric basses either downtown or on the NW side. I teach technique, practical theory, reading, styles and improvisation. My main area of interest is jazz and pop, but all types of musicians (including beginners) are welcome in my studios.
I’ve been in the music business for over 30 years, having performed with a variety of jazz luminaries, for many Broadway shows, for private and corporate events and in the recording studio. I have a music degree from Depaul. My teachers include Mark Kraemer, Warren Benfield, Karl Fruh, Dave Holland, Cliff Colnot and Alan Swain.

I am available for private lessons on jazz and popular double bass and bass
guitar in my Evanston studio. Technique, theory, reading, musical style,
improvisation are covered. Beginners to advanced students are welcome.
I have been a full time professional bassist for over thirty years and have
played with such luminaries as the Lyle Mays Quartet, the Paul Wertico Trio
and Kurt Elling. I have toured the world with various groups and played on
upwards of 1000 recording sessions.

I am a member of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC. Previously
I was in the Oregon Symphony. I have a Masters from USC (CA) and a Bachelors
from IU. Teachers have included Bruce Bransby, David Moore, Nico Abondolo, and
Barry Lieberman.
I have been teaching privately for over 10 years now, and was also an assistant
instructor at USC, and on faculty at Linfield College in McMinnville, OR.
I teach out of my home in Alexandria, VA and have students from around the DC
Metro area.

Brent Edmondson

I am a double bass teacher in the Boston Metro area, as well as an active performer in many regional orchestras. I currently study with Ed Barker, Principal Bassist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and perform as Principal double bassist of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and perform with the Marsh Chapel Collegium (featured on WBUR’s weekly Sunday broadcast), Waltham Philharmonic, Dorchester Symphony, and Boston University Symphony Orchestra. In the past, I have also performed with Symphony in C and the Philadelphia Double Bass Project.
I have previously studied with Harold Robinson, principal bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Ranaan Meyer of Time for Three, and Robert Kesselman of the Philadelphia Orchestra. I attended the National Orchestral Institute, and was one of ten bass players accepted to the first annual Wabass Institute.
I have been teaching private lessons and ensemble coachings for six years and have placed students in Delaware All-State, Maryland All-Region and All-County, as well as Rowan University and the University of Delaware music programs.

I teach from my home in Princeton, NJ. I have experience working with students from middle school age through adult and experience levels from beginner to college/conservatory level. I received my Master of Music degree in Double Bass Performance from the Juilliard School in 2008, studying with Eugene Levinson, Principal Double Bass of the New York Philharmonic. During my time at Juilliard I was the winner of the Concerto Competition and performed the Vanhal Double Bass Concerto in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. convenient to Hunterdon County, NJ as well. I teach almost all styles of music,

John started playing Double Bass at the age of 11. He attended The Julliard School during high school and was a scholarship student at Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana where he studied with Lawrence Hurst. After graduating from IU, he attended the Manhattan School of Music completing his Masters Degree with Timothy Cobb. Mr. Grillo performed at The Tanglewood Music Center from 1994 to 1996. Other festivals include the National Repertory Orchestra, Festival di Due Mondi in Italy, and Pacific Music Festival in Japan. John was a member of the New World Symphony from 1999-2002. His other professional engagements include performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Opera, Wheeling Symphony, Memphis Symphony, and the Sarasota Opera. John was a faculty member with The Pittsburgh Music Academy from 2002-2006. Future engagements include the Iris Orchestra, Philadelphia Virtuosi, Pennsylvania Ballet, The Princeton Festival, The Philly Pops, Opera New Jersey and the Princeton Symphony. There are three videos here Jason fantastic bassblog, taken from YouTube. I had
23 years old and It was a true disaster! Now I have more and continues to be a
disaster!
Even with Google entering my name and surname. There are the same video

I made these videos just because it’s very funny to look at me when I played my
first important live concert in a Local TV. It’s a question of “historical
memory”.
