Dominican Symphony Orchestra bassist Velibor Veljkovic sent me a message recently in search of more information about the Klauss Stoll and Jorg Baumann recording of the Bottesini Passione Amorosa. It sounds like this CD is out of print, and he is having a hard time locating a copy of it. Any information about this recording would be greatly appreciated–just leave a comment or click the ‘contact’ link in the menubar to drop me a line about it.
Here’s a video featuring Klauss Stoll discussing and performing the Mahler 1 bass solo. This is the only Klaus Stoll clip I’ve found on YouTube thus far–it would be great to hear more from this major figure in the bass world.

Dear maestro Jason,
this is a piece of a DVD by KLAUS STOLL. In fact in this DVD, that you can find in the NBBRECORDS.com’s catalogue and in Stoll website http://www.klausstoll.com, the great Maestro plays works by Frescobaldi, Bach, pergolesei, Abel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Dragonetti, Rossini, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Berlioz, Verdi, Saint-Saene, Mahler, Strass, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky, Berg, Prokofieff and much more, on a Maggini doublebass.
You can bought it here: http://www.nbbrecords.com (there are also a lot of important and very beautiful cds by different soloists).
Stoll’DVD is an incredible work in which the Maestro explains how to play the most important pieces in doublebass orchestral repertory. The quality of sound and shots is very and very good.
My best regards from Italy.
With esteem
dr.Vito Liuzzi
I have this recording, but it doesn’t have any Bottesini in it.
