Hi everyone! Pete Tambroni here from MostlyBass.com. I wanted to let you all know that MostlyBass.com has been updated to include much more information for students and educators – both music teachers and classroom educators. I’ve been a music teacher and orchestra director since 1996 and wanted to share many of the things I’ve learned.
Jason Heath and I also shot some videos of bass technique that are posted. They help clarify some technique issues students have such as vibrato as well as showing students how to carry a bass.
Thanks for tolerating the shameless plug and I look forward to contributing to Double Bass Blog and MostlyBass.com.

Hi there.
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
Just wanted to say that I REALLY appreciate the info on Mostlybass.com but am very disappointed that for some reason I cannot watch the vibrato videos. They were what I was looking for on google when I first happened upon mostlybass. I can see all the rest of the videos, but for some reason the vibrato videos are no show. Tried it in Firefox, tried it on Internet Explorer, tried updating my quicktime… has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to solve it?
I would have posted this on Mostlybass.com, but there is no place for comments.
Anyways, I love your blog here and I just love listening to contrabass conversations. Keep up the good (and encouraging!) work,
Genna.
Thanks for checking out MostlyBass.com! I just tested the vibrato page in FireFox and Camino. I noticed that Firefox does take a while to load the videos. Try refreshing the page and giving it some time to load. I’m not sure why this happening – Camino and Safari load them very quickly.
