Bowmaker Susan Lipkins on the podcast this month!

We will be featuring an interview with bowmaker Susan Lipkins on Contrabass Conversations this month!  Sue is one of the most in-demand bowmakers in the country and has been creating quality handcrafted bows for years.  She is the first bowmaker that we’ve featured on the podcast, and you’re going to love hearing her thoughts and perspectives on this incredibly important aspect of bass playing.

Here’s a great video of Chicago Symphony principal bassist Alex Hanna demonstrating sound and technique on the bass with a bow made by Sue Lipkins!  In this video, Alex says that he’d much rather have a subpar bass and a great bow than a great bass and subpar bow.  How true!
