I hope you’re having a good week! Here’s the latest in the double bass world.
Events
I can’t believe that it has taken be this long to learn about the wonderful double bass player James Oesi. James is putting together the Dutch Double Bass Festival, which takes place May 19-21. There’s a great lineup of artists for the event, including former podcast guests Adam Ben Ezra and Gary Karr.
Here’s a short video that’s a great introduction to James and his musicianship:
Join me and a star-studded faculty at the Golden Gate Bass Camp this June 26-30. I’d love to see you at this event, and you can learn more in my in-depth preview episode.
There will be a college-bound bassists and professors meet & greet at the 2017 International Society of Bassists College Fair Day, which takes place Saturday, June 10th, from 8:30 to 10 AM. Register for the convention here, and check out my convention preview podcast with host and ISB president-elect Nicholas Walker for more details.
The Bass Works Program is still accepting applications for the Summer of 2017! Join former podcast guests Ira Gold, Jeff Weisner, Tracy Rowell, and many others at this dynamic event, and learn more in my interview with event coordinator Wesley Thompson. The event takes place July 23-30, and the application deadline is May 15.

This eight week online boot camp is for all instrumentalists looking to hone their audition skills.
