Welcome to Buckeye Bass Bashes!

Welcome to Buckeye Bass Bashes from The Ohio State University School of Music, with bass professor Barry Green and co-host Jason Heath. This series is for upright, classical, jazz and electric bass players at any level. They can be played at school, as part of a bass sectional, or in a remote lesson or at home.

Learn about historic legends of the bass including Dittersdorf, Dragonetti, Bottessini and Koussevitzky as well as contemporary jazz and classical icons like Gary Karr, Francois Rabbath, Andres Martin, DaXun Zhang and Edgar Meyer. We also hear from jazz greats like Christian McBride and John Clayton, Victor Wooten, Esperanza Spaulding, Tal Wikenfeld, Nik West, and young superstars like Dominique Wagner, Phoebe Russell, Szymon Marciniak, Mikyung Sung, Aaron Olguin and more. Participate in clinics and enjoy connecting with the entire world of bass in these 30 minute bi-weekly episodes.

Wow! What an amazing project and so extremely worthwhile! I feel honored to be included in the first endeavor and I’m thrilled that you found all those videos of me. I loved your presentations and, having devoted part of my life to public school music, I really admire how you put this video together in such a way that it will be very appealing and captivating for all children (oldsters, too!). I’m in awe of your superb video capabilities and I look forward to seeing all eight of your series. Bravo to both you and Jason!
